Personalised Stickers, Undoing Reels, More: Instagram Adds New Ways To Create Content In Latest Update
Instagram's upcoming tools will provide users with the ability to scale, crop, and rotate individual video clips.
In its continuous efforts to enhance user experience, Instagram, owned by Meta, has unveiled several new features for its Android and iOS applications. Among the updates is an innovative AI-powered tool designed to enable users to craft personalised stickers from their photos and videos.
To access the new custom sticker generator, users can simply tap the 'Create' button situated within the sticker search entry box, conveniently placed alongside options such as Poll, Quiz, and Add Yours. The technology behind this feature harnesses the power of Meta's Segment Anything AI model, allowing users to generate stickers using content from their camera roll or eligible media on the Instagram platform.
Utilising a one-click approach similar to iMessage functionality, the custom AI sticker generator permits users to effortlessly isolate objects within an image. For those seeking additional customisation or when the AI output doesn't meet expectations, users have the option to manually select the subject.
Upon completion, users can integrate the generated sticker into their Reel or Story by tapping the 'Use Sticker' button. It's important to note that this new AI sticker generator differs significantly from the existing option, which primarily generates stickers from simple text-based prompts.
In addition to the sticker generator, Instagram is actively developing 'undo' and 'redo' buttons for Reels. Moreover, upcoming tools will provide users with the ability to scale, crop, and rotate individual video clips. The platform is also streamlining access to existing features, such as Voiceover, and introducing 10 new English text-to-speech voices along with 6 new text fonts and styles.
As part of its user-focused updates, Instagram is introducing a revamped Drafts interface. This enhancement allows users to swiftly preview, rename, and schedule their drafts, offering a more streamlined and efficient content creation process. On the visual front, the platform has introduced 25 new photo filters that span from subtle color adjustments to options catering to expressive styles.
