Hours After Grok 3 Announcement, Elon Musk's X Nearly Doubles X Premium+ Plan Price. Here's How Much It Costs In India

Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence venture, xAI, has launched its latest chatbot upgrade, Grok 3, bringing notable enhancements in AI capabilities. However, shortly after the announcement, X, formerly Twitter, significantly raised the price of its Premium+ subscription, the only tier granting access to the new AI model.
Grok 3 Arrives With Two Variants
On Tuesday, Musk introduced Grok 3, which comes in two versions—Grok 3 Beta and Grok 3 Mini. The AI-powered chatbot is designed to compete with existing models like ChatGPT, Gemini, DeepSeek, and Perplexity. According to xAI engineers, Grok 3 boasts a tenfold improvement in performance over its predecessor, Grok 2, and has been trained on an extensive set of 200,000 GPUs.
During the launch, Musk confidently stated he was "1,000%" confident that users will appreciate the new model. At present, Grok 3 is exclusively available to subscribers of X’s highest-tier membership, Premium+.
X Premium+ Subscription Sees A Sharp Price Hike
Just hours after the Grok 3 announcement, X substantially increased the cost of its Premium+ plan. In India, the monthly fee has surged to Rs 2,861.67, nearly doubling from its previous price of Rs 1,750. The annual subscription has also seen a steep rise, jumping from Rs 18,300 to Rs 34,340.
X introduced its Premium+ tier in October 2023, offering benefits such as the ability to edit posts, share longer content, undo actions, and play background videos. One of its key attractions is an ad-free experience in the ‘For You’ and ‘Following’ sections. Additionally, subscribers receive engagement perks, including boosted replies, monetisation tools, and access to creator-focused features like X Pro, Creator Subscriptions, and Media Studio.
Security features such as SMS-based two-factor authentication, encrypted direct messages, verified checkmarks, and ID verification are also included in the plan. Users can further personalise their experience with customisable app icons, themes, and navigation options.
Super Grok Subscription Introduced

This premium offering caters to users seeking the most advanced AI capabilities and early access to cutting-edge features. The Super Grok plan is available for both the Grok app and the recently launched grok.com website, providing a broader scope for AI interactions.
The latest developments indicate that Musk is pushing forward with his vision of integrating AI more deeply into the X ecosystem, albeit at a higher price point for users looking to access these premium features.
