Google Doodle Celebrates Sailing (Day 2) At 2024 Paris Olympics: Check Out The Doodle Here

Google Doodle Today: Google has reused the Google Doodle that it released on Friday to celebrate Day 2 of Sailing at Paris Games 2024.

Google on Saturday released a Google Doodle to celebrate the Sailing sport as part of its series celebrating the Paris 2024 Olympics. Google Doodle celebrated Day 2 of Sailing as the tech giant also released a Google Doodle on Friday to celebrate Day 1 of the sport at the Paris Games 2024. The theme for this Google Doodle was 'Water Sports' and while sharing this Doodle, Google wrote, "Masterful manoeuvres and Marseilles Marina views: that’s a win-wind situation! Sailing is today’s Doodle."

The adorable GIF shows the gorgeous views of Marseilles Marina, marked by our usual Google Olympics birds busy with athletic feats.

Coincidentally, the Google Doodle released today and the Google Doodle yesterday are identical.

Since the start of the Paris 2024 Olympics, Google has been showcasing different sports through its Doodles. These whimsical animations have already paid tribute to events like surfing, artistic gymnastics, and football, adding a fun element to the worldwide celebration of the Summer Games.

Sailing At The 2024 Paris Games

Sailing has a rich Olympic history, beginning with the first modern Games in Athens, Greece, in 1896. Although the event was initially cancelled due to severe weather, sailing has been a regular feature in the Olympics, except for the 1904 Games and the cancelled 1916 Games.

The 2024 Summer Olympics will host sailing competitions from July 28 to August 8 at the Marseille Marina.

This year, the number of competitors will be reduced from 350 to 330, with an equal split between male and female sailors. Various changes have been introduced to promote gender equality and increase diversity among participating nations. A total of 65 National Olympic Committees will compete in the sailing events, though India will not be participating.
