Apple Vision Pro To Be Available Next Month. Pre-Orders And Availability Details

Apple has officially announced availability date of the much-anticipated Vision Pro headset. It will be available in the US starting next month. Alongside this revelation, the tech giant disclosed pricing information for additional accessories and prescription lenses, amplifying anticipation among prospective buyers. Pre-orders are set to commence on January 19 at 8 am ET. The device will be available starting February 2.

During the announcement of the Apple Vision Pro, CEO Tim Cook underscored its significance in spatial computing and said: "The era of spatial computing has arrived! Apple Vision Pro will be accessible in the US starting February 2."

Priced at $3,499, the Apple Vision Pro headset boasts a range of features, such as a 4K display for each eye and smooth transitions between augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) facilitated by a user-friendly dial. It operates on a dual-chip configuration, combining Apple's M2 chip with the new R1 chip, specifically designed to handle data from the device's numerous sensors, cameras and microphones.

The standard configuration of the Apple Vision Pro includes 256GB of storage and a variety of accessories such as the Solo Knit Band, Dual Loop Band, light seal with two cushions, Apple Vision Pro cover, polishing cloth, battery, USB-C charging cable and USB-C power adapter. Notably, the device excels in navigation with support for eye, head, and hand tracking, eliminating the necessity for a separate controller.

Famed Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of TF Securities had predicted that the Apple Vision Pro will hit store shelves in late January or early February, emphasising its significance as Apple's "most important product of 2024". Kuo predicted that the company aims to ship as many as 500,000 units in the year 2024.

Previously, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman said that retail employees from Apple Stores globally are travelling to Cupertino, California for training sessions related to an undisclosed new product. This aligns with previous reports from December, where Gurman highlighted Apple's plans for training seminars to educate retail staff on the setup, operation, and sales strategies for the high-end headset, which is priced at a substantial $3,499.
