Damyant Singh Khanoria, Oppo India's CMO, Quits

He had joined the company in December 2020, transitioning from Apple.

Damyant Singh Khanoria, who served as the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for handset maker Oppo in India, has resigned from his position after leading the marketing team at the smartphone OEM for three years. He had joined the company in December 2020, transitioning from Apple. Khanoria is an industry veteran with more than two decades of experience.

Official confirmation from Oppo India regarding Khanoria's departure had not been made at the time, news agency IANS reported, citing  reliable sources.

Khanoria was reporting to Elvis Zhou, the President of Oppo India. Before this role, he had a tenure of approximately 12 years with prominent sportswear brand, Adidas.

This development comes ahead of the launch of  Oppo Reno 11 and Reno 11 Pro in India on January 12. The lineup was launched in China in November, as successors to the Oppo Reno 10 series. As per International Data Corporation (IDC), Oppo India had around 10 per cent market share in the third quarter (Q3) of 2023.

The Oppo Reno 11 series is set to debut in India on January 12, as officially confirmed by the company's website. According to a tipster, the Oppo Reno 11 series in India will feature distinct processors from their Chinese counterparts. The Indian models of the Oppo Reno 11 and Reno 11 Pro are rumoured to be equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 SoC and MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC, respectively. In contrast, the Chinese variant of the standard model runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset, while the Pro model is powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.

The Oppo Reno 11 in India is rumored to feature a 5,000mAh battery, while the Pro variant is reported to have a 4,600mAh battery. In China, the Oppo Reno 11 and Reno 11 Pro come with 4,800mAh and 4,700mAh batteries, supporting 67W and 80W fast charging, respectively.
