(Mac) Your Calendars! Apple Teases New iMac, MacBook Launches Starting Next Week. Here's What To Expect

Apple will change its lanes from single-day launch events to announcing multiple new products over the course of multiple days.

Apple is gearing up for a series of hardware announcements next week, teasing updates expected to focus on the Mac lineup. A teaser shared on social media by Greg Joswiak, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Marketing, has hinted at the timeline, sparking speculation that the announcements could unveil the new M4 chip across various Mac devices, such as the iMac, MacBook Pro, and Mac mini.

This news comes shortly after Apple’s recent product launch, which introduced the iPhone 16 series, new AirPods, and Apple Watch models.

Mac Announcements Expected In Late October

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Joswiak confirmed that Apple will kick off these announcements starting October 28, which will span multiple days — an unusual format for Apple, which traditionally hosts single-day events.

The event is expected to highlight updates to the Mac lineup, continuing the tech giant’s October hardware announcement trend.

Apple previously launched the M4 chip with its latest iPad Pro lineup, and rumours now suggest this chip could debut in new MacBook Pro models, potentially featuring 14- and 16-inch versions.

Recently, retail boxes for a MacBook Pro powered by the M4 chip have been spotted online, hinting that the device could be among the new releases.

Apple Intelligence AI Suite Also Expected

Apple’s suite of AI features, known as Apple Intelligence, may finally be released to the public through the iOS 18.1 update, anticipated around October 28. These AI features were initially showcased at WWDC 2024 in June, with plans to incorporate them into the new iPhone 16 series. However, the rollout was postponed, and Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman recently suggested that the long-awaited launch of Apple Intelligence could coincide with the October announcements.

With the tech world’s attention focused on Cupertino, next week’s announcements are expected to showcase Apple’s latest strides in hardware and AI innovation.
