Apple CEO Tim Cook Talks About His Morning Routine, The iPhone Feature He Had No Idea About

Cook also touched on the challenge of steering Apple, emphasising the importance of prioritisation. "The key for us is focus. Saying no to really good ideas so you can make room for the great ones."

Apple CEO Tim Cook, during a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, was caught off-guard when asked about a seemingly simple texting feature: naming group chats. Despite leading one of the world's largest tech companies, Cook admitted that he had no idea this feature existed. The profile dived deep into Cook's persona and daily habits, including his morning routine.

The iOS Feature Even Cook Didn't Know About

The surprise moment came during a lighthearted exchange in the interview when journalist Ben Cohen asked Cook what he thought the best name for a group chat was. According to Cohen, the CEO appeared confused and responded, “I don’t name them. Do you name yours? Interesting. I may take that on.”

Cook quickly embraced the idea, later telling Cohen he had named a group chat with his college roommates, appropriately calling it “Roommates.”

Tim Cook's Daily Routine

As mentioned earlier, the interview offered more than just tech insights, as Cook shared a glimpse into his daily routine.

He starts his mornings early at 4 am, immediately checking emails and reviewing sales data from across the globe to stay informed. After handling business matters, Cook focuses on his personal fitness, tracking his workouts with his Apple Watch while rocking out to classic rock tunes via his AirPods.

At the office, Cook switches between his various Apple devices, including the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and iMac. When travelling, his go-to gadget is the iPad Pro. He summed up his approach to using Apple products simply: “Every day, every product.”
