Bhilwara Rape-Murder Case: Chargesheet Says Victim Burnt Alive, Police Name Nine Accused

A separate chargesheet would be filed against two minors who were allegedly involved in the Bhilwara incident.

New Delhi: Rajasthan Police on Saturday presented a 400-page chargesheet before the court naming nine of 11 accused in the alleged gang-rape of a minor girl in Bhilwara, almost a month after her body parts were found inside a coal furnace, news agency PTI reported. The chargesheet also mentioned that the girl was alive when she was thrown into the furnace. According to the report, a separate chargesheet would be filed against two other minors who were allegedly involved in the crime.

"Forensic examination report has suggested that the girl was alive before being burnt in the furnace. She could be unconscious but she was alive. So, Indian Penal Code (IPC) section 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt) was added in the FIR," PTI quoted case investigating officer and Kotari DSP Shyam Sunder Bishnoi as saying.

"The charge sheet was presented before the court on Saturday and the next hearing is scheduled on September 8," he added.

It is to be noted that the 14-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped and thrown into a coal furnace on August 3 at Kotari area in Bhilwara.

According to the DSP, while some charred body parts of the victim were recovered from the furnace, the other parts were found scattered at various places. They were later sent for a forensic test, PTI reported.
