Fire Erupts At Ganesh Pandal In Pune During Nadda's Visit, BJP Chief Evacuated Safely — Video

BJP President J P Nadda was safely escorted out of a Lord Ganesh pandal as fire consumed the top section of the makeshift structure in Pune.

A fire broke out at a Lord Ganesh pandal in Pune on Tuesday evening, where BJP President J P Nadda was offering prayers alongside the party's Maharashtra unit chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule. Nadda was safely escorted out of the scene as the fire consumed the top section of the makeshift pandal, situated in the Lokmanya Nagar area in the heart of the city, news agency PTI reported. No casualties were reported in this incident.

Dramatic visuals captured the moment when Pune city BJP president Dhiraj Ghare and security personnel ensured Nadda's safe exit from the pandal, which had been constructed as a replica of Ujjain's renowned Mahakaleshwar Temple.

As per PTI, local authorities suspect that the blaze might have been triggered by fireworks, which were part of the pandal's decorations. The pandal was set up by the Sane Guruji Ganesh Mitra Mandal.

Coincidentally, shortly after the fire erupted, rain began pouring in the area, providing timely assistance in quelling the flames. Fire brigade officials swiftly arrived at the scene to extinguish the blaze.

Earlier on Tuesday, J P Nadda embarked on a tour of Mumbai, visiting various prominent Lord Ganesh pandals, including the iconic Lalbaugcha Raja. The tour commenced with a visit to the Keshavji Chawl Ganeshotsav mandal in Girgaon. Accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, state BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Mumbai BJP chief Ashish Shelar, and BJP national secretary Vinod Tawde, Nadda paid his respects to the revered Lalbaugcha Raja Ganpati, PTI reported.

Moreover, Nadda convened a meeting at Fadnavis' official residence, engaging with elected representatives in Mumbai to discuss pertinent matters of interest.
