Haryana Nuh Violence: State administration has demolished illegal encroachments, some of which belonged to those involved in recent clashes.
Nuh Violence: Haryana administration on Saturday demolished illegal constructions near SKM Government Medical College in the Nuh district. According to Nuh SDM Ashwani Kumar, the action was taken on the orders of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. Earlier on Friday, law enforcement agencies demolished over 200 shanties of 'illegal' immigrants who were allegedly involved in the violence. A number of shanties were built illegally in the past four years on lands belonging to the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) in the Tauru area of Nuh.

Those shanties were then allegedly inhabited by illegal immigrants that came from Bangladesh. The demolition drive was carried out by district authorities with a heavy police contingent on Thursday, reported news agency IANS. The move, however, is also being seen as an action against alleged rioters, as the government has maintained immigrants were involved in the communal clashes that claimed six lives. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar reportedly ordered the demolition.
