Haryana INLD Chief Murder Case: Ex-BJP MLA Among 12 Booked. Relatives, Party Members Stage Protest

Nafe Singh Murder Case: 12 people including former BJP MLA Naresh Kaushik have been booked while INLD members and relatives staged protest demanding that the accused be arrested.

Family members and supporters of INLD leader Nafe Singh Rathi staged a protest in Haryana's Bahadurgarh demanding immediate arrest of the accused in the murder of the party leader. The Indian National Lok Dal Haryana unit president, Nafe Singh Rathore and a party worker were killed on Sunday after unidentified assailants sprayed their SUV with bullets in Bahadurgarh near Delhi. 

12 people have been booked in connection with the matter including former BJP MLA Naresh Kaushik, Karambir Rathee, Ramesh Rathee, Satish Rathee, Gaurav Rathee, Rahul and Kamal, according to a PTI report. Five other unnamed people have also been mentioned in the FIR. 

Meanwhile, the family of the victim said they won't let the postmortem examination happen unil the accused are arrested.

Speaking to ABP News, Nafe Singh's son claimed that former Haryana minister Mange Ram Rathi and Naresh Kaushik tortured his family members, lodging false FIRs against them. As per the ABP News report, Nafe Singh and Mange Ram's family had resentment with each other after Mange Ram accused Nafe Singh in the suicide case of former's son. 

Nafe Singh's family members and relatives participated in the protest demanding the arrest of all the accused. 

The FIR booked in connection with the case has been registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including that of murder, the PTI report added.

The murder case, which has taken place just ahead of the Lok Sabha poll, has drawn sharp reactions from opposition parties who have alleged a breakdown of the law and order in the BJP-ruled state. 

On the other hand, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar assured action on Sunday saying not a single culprit involved in the case will be spared. Police have been instructed to arrest the accused as soon as possible and take strictest action, he said.
