6 Accused In Chandan Mishra Murder Case Arrested From West Bengal

In a major breakthrough, Bihar Police and STF arrest six accused in gangster Chandan Mishra's murder case from West Bengal; more suspects tracked as raids continue across locations.

In a major breakthrough in the sensational murder of gangster Chandan Mishra, the Bihar Police and the Special Task Force (STF) have arrested six accused from West Bengal. The high-stakes operation comes weeks after Mishra was shot dead inside Paras HMRI Hospital in Patna, a crime that sparked political outrage and public alarm.

How the Assassins Moved with Precision

According to investigators, the hit squad arrived on two motorcycles early in the morning. Five men, armed and appearing well-prepared, entered the hospital premises while a sixth accomplice stayed outside to keep watch. Their leader, identified as Tauseef Badshah—a known criminal with a history of jail time—was disturbingly familiar with the hospital layout. Officials say he had visited the facility several times when a close associate was undergoing long-term treatment.

Security guards at the emergency gate reportedly questioned the men and demanded gate passes. However, when they failed to produce any, the group simply slipped in through the Outpatient Department (OPD) entrance, avoiding direct confrontation. Their destination was clear: Room 209, where Chandan Mishra was being treated under police custody while out on medical parole.

Inside Room 209

Police believe the assailants had meticulously planned every move. They not only knew Mishra’s exact room number but were also aware of a critical vulnerability—the lock on Room 209 was faulty, making entry effortless. This level of detail has led officials to believe the killers had carried out extensive reconnaissance in the days leading up to the hit.

CCTV footage recovered from inside the hospital paints a chilling picture. Around dawn, the five attackers moved swiftly but silently through the corridor. Leading the group was Tauseef, his shirt untucked, collar loose, and pistol drawn. He didn’t run, didn’t hide his identity—his calm demeanor was eerily cold. Within moments, Chandan Mishra was riddled with bullets and lay dead on the hospital bed.

The Getaway: Calm Exit, Celebratory Escape

What followed was equally brazen. As hospital staff scrambled in panic, the assailants began their exit. While the others fled, Tauseef was seen walking away as calmly as he had entered. CCTV footage from outside later captured the men celebrating their successful hit—one of them even raising his pistol in the air as they sped away on their motorcycles at approximately 7:15 a.m.

By 7:30 a.m., the first distress calls began reaching the local police. Just 30 minutes later, shocking video clips of the daylight murder were already circulating across social media platforms, prompting widespread panic. The visuals sparked a political storm, with opposition leaders questioning the state’s law and order situation.

Police Response and Investigation Progress

By noon that day, law enforcement had already identified the attackers using hospital CCTV visuals and eyewitness accounts. After weeks of surveillance and inter-state coordination, six individuals linked to the murder were tracked down and arrested in West Bengal.

Sources confirm that all six are currently being interrogated and will be transported to Patna soon. Police also revealed that the locations of several other suspects have been pinpointed, and raids are underway across multiple sites.

What’s Next: A Deepening Probe

Officials say the investigation is far from over. Authorities are now probing the larger conspiracy behind the murder—who ordered the hit, how the attackers coordinated the operation so precisely, and whether insiders were involved in leaking details of Mishra’s hospital stay.
