UP: 5 Dead, 15 Injured In Truck-Bus Collision Amid Dense Fog In Aligarh
The 15 people who were injured were admitted to the nearby Kailash Hospital in Jewar for treatment. While post-mortems of the five deceased have been filed.
Five people were killed and 15 were injured after a massive collision between a double-decker bus and truck on the Yamuna expressway in Aligarh on Thursday. According to ANI, the truck had tried to overtake the bus, amid dense fog which led to the collision in the Tappal area of the district. The accident took place between 12:30 am and 1 am when the bus was travelling from Delhi to Azamgarh.

Circle Officer (CO) Khair Varun Kumar while speaking to ANI said, “The double decker bus was travelling from Delhi to Azamgarh. During this time, the incident took place due to a massive collision between a truck and a double decker due to fog. The truck was trying to overtake the bus. The accident occurred under the Tappal Police Station area on the Yamuna expressway”.
"Police sent the injured to the hospital for treatment. The bodies of five deceased were sent for post-mortem," Aligarh Police said in a brief statement on X.
The 15 people who were injured were admitted to the nearby Kailash Hospital in Jewar for treatment. While post-mortems of the five deceased have been filed. The police have also seized the truck.
According to PTI, an injured passenger said that the privately operated bus was on its to Azamgarh in eastern Uttar Pradesh from Delhi's Kashmere Gate. The truck involved in the collision was carrying glass items, the man added.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognisance of the accident and extended his condolences to the families of the deceased, according to a press release. The district administration has also been instructed to ensure that the injured have been provided with proper treatment. The CM has also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
