WTC Final: Mohammed Shami Breaks Mohinder Amarnath's 38-Year-Old Bowling Record

Mohammed Shami took 4 wickets while conceding 76 runs, with which he broke the 38-year-old record of Mohinder Amarnath. This figure is the record for the best performance by an Indian bowler in the final of any ICC Championship.  

Indian cricket team's senior speedster Mohammed Shami created a unique record in the India-New Zealand ICC World Test Championship final at The Ageas Bowl ground in Southampton. 

Batting in the first innings of the match, New Zealand were bundled up for 249 runs and the biggest contribution in this was of Mohammed Shami, with which this Indian pacer has created a new history by breaking a 38-year-old Indian bowling record.

On the fifth day of the rain-hit World Test Championship final, Indian bowlers put the New Zealand batsmen to real test. Struggling hard to score runs, the Kiwis could score 249 runs before getting all out. During this, the most successful bowler for India was Mohammed Shami, who took 4 wickets for 76 runs in 26 overs.

At the same time, apart from him, Ishant Sharma took 3 wickets, Ravichandran Ashwin took 2 wickets and Ravindra Jadeja took 1 wicket for India.

Former India all-rounder Mohinder Amarnath took 3 for 12 against West Indies in the final of the 1983 Cricket World Cup.  Shami has now broken that record.
