WATCH: Glenn Maxwell's Scoop Shot Ends In 'Unusual Dismissal' During BBL Match

New Delhi: Aussie star all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, who is currently not part of the touring Australian squad in the ODI series against India, has been outstanding as captain of the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League (BBL). One of the world's best T20 batsman, Maxwell, is considered as a great finisher in the shortest format of the game. The Victorian all-rounder who recently made a return his return to cricket after taking a break owing to mental health issues in October. The 32-year-old is known for his 360 degree stroke playing ability but things didn't go as planned for the skipper on Saturday during a match against  Perth Scorchers. The right-handed hard-hitting batsman ended up giving a simple catch to the wicket-keeper during an attempt to hit it for a boundary. Maxwell made an emphatic comeback into the IPL after he was picked up by Kings Eleven Punjab for a whopping Rs 10.75 crores in the IPL auctions currently being held in Kolkata. The hard hitting Aussie batsman made a reunion of sorts with his old franchise KXIP, for whom he donned the jersey from 2014 and 2017. Maxwell, who had a base price of Rs. 2 crore was heavily bid by Kings Eleven Punjab and Delhi Daredevils, with the former eventually buying him for Rs. 10.75 crore. His teammate Pat Cummins, meanwhile, became the most expensive overseas player in the history of IPL, as he was sold for Rs. 15.5 crore to Kolkata Knight Riders.
