WATCH: 18-year-old 'Lady Sultan' beats male champions

New Delhi: Men are physically stronger than women? Think again! Still believe in the age-old assertion? Let us introduce you to Neha Tomar, an 18-year-old wrestler from Dehradun. Wrestling is one of the most physically demanding contact sport in the world and so a good means to prove the point. Though male and female wrestlers fight in a separate categories and most of the sanctioned national and international tournaments follow this rule, local tournaments organized in small towns provide flexibility. In one such tournament, organized in Jogi Nawada locality of Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh, Neha defeated not just one but two male champion wrestlers. The Shri Ramlila Parishad Jogi Nawada organises a dangal (wrestling competition) every year during the Ramlila celebrations. Like all other wrestling competitions, here also male-to-male and female-to-female competitions are allowed. But organizers were left stunned when Neha openly challenged all the male wrestler for a bout. Probably fearing humiliation in face of defeat, no male wrestler accepted the challenge. But when she did not buzz, a wrestler from Lucknow, Nawab, came forward. Little did he know he will be humiliated in front of a huge crowd in the next five minutes. But, it wasn’t the first such instance. Neha loves to take on male wrestlers and first made headlines in 2014 when she challenged and humbled Sonu Pehalwan from Rudrapur, Uttarakhand. And Neha did not stop after beating Nawab too. She again challenged wrestlers of any gender to a bout next day. This time Haroon from Delhi accepted her challenge. Brimming with confidence, Neha annihilated Haroon too, keeping her unbeaten run intact.
