Politics: Opposition Targets PM Modi Over Silence on Student Protest

Opposition leaders have strongly criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the government over the ongoing student protests, questioning his earlier silence on issues like NEET paper leaks, unemployment, inflation, and other national matters. They argued that since the government holds power, it is responsible for finding solutions to students’ concerns rather than only making appeals. The opposition reiterated its demand for the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, claiming that accountability must be fixed before any discussion can move forward. Leaders compared the current situation with previous governments, saying ministers had resigned earlier even over allegations of smaller issues. They also accused the government of using force against protesting students, alleging that police action, including lathi charges, was taken against young protesters, including women students. The opposition maintained that students are demanding justice and that the government should listen to their grievances and take corrective action.
