VIDEO: Ex-cricketers Warne, Pietersen fined for violating traffic rules Photo: Twitter Hobart: Former Test cricket stars Shane Warne, Kevin Pietersen and Michael Slater were on Tuesday fined $300 for violating traffic safety norms by not wearing seat belts during a car ride. They were fined after the social media savvy Warne posted a video of them in a moving car, reports the BBC. Warne posted a four-minute video on Facebook showing them travelling in a car without putting on their seat belts. The trio are currently in Australia working as expert commentators in the hosts' ongoing Test match series against South Africa. The video was filmed after the third day of Australia's second Test match against South Africa, reports the BBC. The trio could be seen putting their belts on towards the end of the footage. The car also had former Australian captain Mark Taylor, who was driving the vehicle, and former wicketkeeper Ian Healy. Healy was a seated in the front seat beside Taylor but both wore seatbelts so they weren't sanctioned. The Tasmanian police took a grim view of the video and after reviewing it punished them for violating traffic safety norms. "Tasmania police remind motorists that seat belts save lives and urge drivers to insist their passengers buckle up too," a statement from the Tasmanian police said on Tuesday, as quoted by the BBC.
