'It Was Tough Watching But...': Sanju Samson Opens Up On His Inconsistent Run With Indian Team

Team India's star wicket-keeper batter Sanju Samson, a big success in the Indian Premier League, has failed to solidify his position in the national team.

Sanju Samson in team India: Indian cricket team's star wicket-keeper batter Sanju Samson played the first match of his international career in July 2015. Within seven years of his debut, Sanju has played a total of 6 ODIs and 16 T20 Internationals for India, failing to solidify his position in the national team. Sanju, a big success in the Indian Premier League, has been in and out of the team many times, but he has his own different perspective of looking at it. Samson believes that whatever happens in life has a positive effect on you.

The star batter, who is currently playing India vs Zimbabwe ODIs, finally managed to show his skill in white-ball cricket, scoring an unbeaten 43 of 39 balls in the series decider at Harare. When Samson came to bat, Team India had lost four wickets within 100 runs.

Ahead of Ind vs Zim 3rd ODI, Rohan Gavaskar asked Sanju if he was disappointed being in and out of the side. In reply, the star batter who's not part of the Indian squad touring UAE for Asia Cup 2022, said, "To be very honest, I believe everything you go through impacts you in a positive manner. It was tough watching all your friends play for the country, but I really enjoyed playing those domestic games in that period."

“I haven't got much time in the middle, so I wanted to test myself in a pressure situation. They were bowling some really good bouncers, but I really enjoyed my time in the middle,” he said on the knock in the second ODI.
