Sachin Tendulkar Sends Special Message To Mithali Raj For Reaching 10,000 Run-Milestone

India cricketing icon Sachin Tendulkar took to Twitter to congratulate Mithali for the ‘terrific achievement,’ and added to ‘keep going strong.’

The third ODI is being played between the Indian women's cricket team and the South Africa women's cricket team at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Stadium in Lucknow. In the third ODI, India women’s cricket team captain Mithali Raj scripted history by completing 10,000 runs in international cricket.

Mithali Raj, who was playing her 212th One-Day-International game, scored 36 runs in this match with the help of five fours from 50 balls.

It was due to Mithali's significant knock that the Indian women's cricket team managed to put a tough challenge against South Africa's mammoth 248-run total. In the end, the match was interrupted by rain and South Africa won the match by 6 runs.

India cricketing icon Sachin Tendulkar took to Twitter to congratulate Mithali for the ‘terrific achievement,’ and added to ‘keep going strong.’

During the match, Mithali Raj scored a boundary against South Africa's Anne Bosch in the 28th over of India's innings to attain the huge milestone.

For those who don't know, former England captain Charlotte Edwards is the only female cricketer to have scored more than 10,000 runs in international cricket before Mithali.

The five-match series being played between India and South Africa is currently levelled at 1-1. The fourth match of the series will be played at the Atal Bihari Stadium in Lucknow on March 14.
