Roger Federer Pulls Out Of French Open 2021 Due To Injury, Is It The End For RF?

Roger Federer was set to play his fourth-round match after defeating Kopfer from Germany, but he won't be able to continue. Federer fans are sad that the no.8 seed won't go ahead in the tournament.

Paris: In a shocking turn of events, Roger Federer has decided to opt-out of the ongoing grand slam, French Open 2021 due to multiple knee injuries. He informed about the same in a tweet.

Roger Federer tweeted: "After two knee surgeries and over a year of rehabilitation it's important that I listen to my body and make sure I don't push myself too quickly on my road to recovery. I am thrilled to have gotten three matches sunder my belt. There is no greater feeling than getting back on the court. See you, everyone, soon!"

This means that Federer will not win the record-breaking 21st grand slam and Rafael Nadal has the chance to go past the Swiss.

"I don't know if I am going to play," Federer had said after Saturday night's win. "I have to decide whether or not to continue playing. Is it too risky to keep putting pressure on the knee? Is it a good time to rest?"

Earlier, Federer had said that h needs to concentrate more on winning the Wimbledon where his chances go up drastically, as even after so many years, there are hardly any players better than Federer on grass.

Nonetheless, this decision has come as a shock as Federer had won the third-round match and was set to play his fourth. The knee injury during this time is extremely unfortunate for the 20-time grand slam winner.
