Jasprit Bumrah Struggling For Form After Injury Return - Check Stats

Known for his deadly yorkers and calm under pressure, Bumrah has looked far from his best since rejoining MI in IPL 2025.

Jasprit Bumrah's comeback in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 hasn't lived up to expectations. Returning after a three-month injury layoff, the star Mumbai Indians pacer has struggled to rediscover his trademark rhythm and effectiveness.

Known for his deadly yorkers and calm under pressure, Bumrah has looked far from his best since rejoining the side.

Jasprit Bumrah yet to regain top form

In the recent clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 23, Bumrah was unusually expensive, giving away 39 runs in his 4 overs at an economy of 9.75. This stood out even more considering the economical spells from his fellow bowlers - Trent Boult claimed 4/26 and Deepak Chahar picked up 2/12.

Although Mumbai Indians won the match comfortably by 7 wickets, Bumrah's underwhelming performance raised eyebrows.

Jasprit Bumrah made his first appearance of IPL 2025 season on April 7, having missed MI's opening four matches due to a back injury sustained during the fifth Test against Australia earlier this year.

So far, he has played 5 matches, taken 5 wickets, and returned an average of 31.60 with an economy rate of 7.90. His best figures this season are 2/25.

MI bank on Bumrah to regain form ahead of crucial phase

The injury had kept him out of cricket for about three months, during which he underwent rehabilitation at the Center of Excellence in Bengaluru. Despite making a timely return for Mumbai, the 31-year-old is clearly still working his way back to peak form. With the business end of the tournament approaching, MI will be hoping their pace spearhead finds his rhythm soon.
