Donning an RCB jersey paired with a Punjabi turban, Gayle paid tribute to both franchises he once represented. The “Universe Boss,” who previously played for KKR, RCB, and PBKS, holds the record for the highest individual score in IPL history (175)* and the most sixes in the league.

Jitesh Sharma key for RCB
Jitesh Sharma is holding the innings together for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) after a top-order collapse in the IPL 2025 final against Punjab Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
RCB lost key wickets early, with Virat Kohli falling for 43 off 35 balls, while Phil Salt (16 off 9), Mayank Agarwal (24 off 18), Rajat Patidar (26 off 16), and Liam Livingstone (25 off 15) were all dismissed after getting starts.
For Punjab Kings, Kyle Jamieson has been outstanding with the ball, picking up three crucial wickets. Yuzvendra Chahal and Azmatullah Omarzai have taken one wicket each, tightening the screws on RCB.
Earlier, PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to bowl first, hoping to exploit the conditions under lights.
