IPL 2024 Points Table, Most Runs & Most Wickets: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) secured a nail-biting victory against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the 23rd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 on April 9 (Tuesday), at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh, clinching the win by a slim margin of only 2 runs in a thrilling contest.

Electing to field first, PBKS bowlers initially dominated the contest, restricting SRH to 3/39. Nitish Reddy then showcased his talent with a brilliant 37-ball 64, steering SRH to a competitive total of 182/9.

In response, PBKS faced early struggles, managing only 27/3, the lowest powerplay score in IPL 2024. Despite the setback, they fought back, with Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma forming a crucial partnership of 66 runs off just 27 balls. Although initially trailing behind SRH in the match, PBKS staged a remarkable comeback towards the latter part of the innings, notably scoring 26 runs in the final over, nearly clinching victory. Nevertheless, despite their valiant effort, PBKS ultimately fell short by two runs in the end.

This victory strengthens Sunrisers Hyderabad's hold on the fifth spot in the IPL 2024 points table, as they now boast six points with a Net Run Rate (NRR) of +0.344.
