IPL 2022 Auction Date: All teams have released the list of their retained players ahead of the upcoming IPL season.
IPL 2022 Auction Date: The bugle for the next season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has sounded. With the expansion of IPL next year, a mega auction is to be held ahead of the next season.
Eight teams have released a list of retained players. As two new teams will enter IPL 2022, these new teams will also have to give a list of three players before December 25 that they want to take ahead of the auction pool.
According to media reports, the mega auction of IPL 2022 could take place at the end of December or the first week of January. However, till now the BCCI has not made any formal announcement regarding the IPL players' auction.
10 Teams In IPL 2022
Ten teams will participate in IPL 2022 instead of eight. Lucknow and Ahmedabad will be the two new additional franchises in the IPL from next season. These teams can retain three players each from the auction pool.
Next Season May Start From April 2
Earlier, it was reported that the next season of IPL may start from April 2, 2022. The BCCI has already made it clear that the next season of IPL will be played in India. At the same time, all 10 teams will play seven matches on the home ground and seven matches at other venues.
List Of Retained Players
Before the Mega Auction of IPL 2022, all 8 franchises have announced the players they want to be retained. Speculations by experts came to a halt after a list of the retained players was officially released on Tuesday.
These 27 names released after the retention process have surprised everyone on many fronts. Many star players of IPL missed a place in the written list this time. At the same time, some young players have been lucky.
