The situation worsened as the death roll rose but the main question that people are constantly asking is the lack of arrangements made by the government for the occasion.
Since last night, wild celebrations followed across the city, as RCB ended it's wait for an IPL trophy. Many fans were out there on the street to celebrate the triumph, and this was enough to indicate that the strees will be flooded with people once the RCB squad reaches the city and conduct their celebrations.
What was the exact location of stampede?
The stampede occured on Gate number 6 of the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, as fans became restless to enter the premises.
Did Authorities Anticipate Rush?
Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar aplogised for the incident that occured outside the stadium, and while addressing the issue, he pointed out 'overcrowding' as key factor.
"I apologise to the people of Karnataka and Bengaluru. We wanted to take a procession but the crowd was very uncontrollable so we dropped that procession," said DK Shivakumar.
If we take the above statement into consideration, we can assume that overcrowding was somewhere & somewhat expected. Coming to the authorities, in the aftermath of the incident, one can deem it as a case of inadequate crowd management measures.
