IND V AUS 3rd Test Lunch Report: Honours shared as Australia reach 109/3

IND V AUS 3rd Test Lunch Report: Honours shared as Australia reach 109/3Photo: AP New Delhi: The attacking instincts of the Australian batsmen led to their downfall as India managed to get crucial wickets of Warner, Renshaw and Marsh even though Australia reached 109 for 3 at Lunch on Day 1 of the third India-Australia Test at Ranchi.  Opting to bat first, Australia decided to fall back on their natural attacking game through openers Renshaw and Warner. They raced to 44 runs off just 8 overs. Kohli was quick to respond as he introduced spin from both ends. The first wicket however, was presented with a gift wrap to India. Warner (19) hit a full toss straight back at Jadeja. This was all that India needed to take control of the session. Umesh Yadav finally got reward for some excellent bowling. He got one to straighten off good length to induce the edge from a well settled Renshaw for 44. Then India stifled the Australian batsmen with Ashwin from the other end. Pujara took a blinder a short leg to bring a premature end to Shaun Marsh. Captain Steve Smith (34) and Handscomb (6) were at the crease on Lunch. CLICK HERE FOR SCORECARD AND COMMENTARY
