West Indies-England 3rd ODI washed out, series locked at 1-1

Overnight rains, damp outfield and overcast weather conditions had delayed the toss by an hour, which was the only official activity on the cricket field. England captain Eoin Morgan decided to field but no action took place as rain returned and got heavier as the day progressed.

The West Indies vs England third ODI at the National Cricket Stadium, St George's in Grenada was washed out without a ball being bowled, leaving the five-match series locked at 1-1.

Five hours past the scheduled starting time, the umpires decided to call off the match after rain showed no signs of slowing down.

Overnight rains, damp outfield and overcast weather conditions had delayed the toss by an hour, which was the only official activity on the cricket field. England captain Eoin Morgan decided to field but no action took place as rain returned and got heavier as the day progressed.

The groundstaff did their best but a brief period of sunlight was immediately followed by a spell of shower, making it impossible to prepare suitable conditions for cricket.

The teams will be back at the same venue on Wednesday for the fourth ODI, with the hope of kinder weather. England will hope Ben Stokes can take the extra day to recover from the ankle injury that kept him out of the playing XI for Tuesday's fixture. Windies, meanwhile, will have a decision on their hands, as Andre Russell is available again.
