Virat Kohli's frustrating pattern of getting caught behind the stumps off an off-side delivery continued on Day 5 of the ongoing India vs Australia Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). At 25-2, with India needing 340 to win, Virat Kohli walked in at a pivotal moment in the series, one that had significant implications for their World Test Championship final qualification. However, Kohli played a loose shot off a Mitchell Starc delivery falling for yet another cheap score.

After India bowled Australia out for 234 runs in their second innings, Indian openers played well to fend off the new ball threat from Mitchell Starc, Scott Boland and Pat Cummins. However, Cummins got rid of Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul struck with a double-wicket maiden to leave India 25-2 in 17 overs. And then Starc got rid of Virat Kohli in the 26th over.
