Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai has stirred controversy by sharing a video alleging that a DMK worker attempted to steal a gold bangle from a woman during an anti-Hindi movement oath-taking ceremony. The 30-second clip, posted by Annamalai on social media, shows a DMK member attempting to remove a gold bangle from the wrist of a fellow participant.
Sharing the video, Annamalai took a sharp dig at the ruling DMK, alleging, “Thieves and DMK cannot be separated.”
Taking to X, TN BJP chief Annamalai said, "Zakir Hussain, DMK councilor of Ward 25 of Coonoor Municipal Council, steals bangles under the guise of anti-Hindi. Theft and DMK can never be separated!"

While the man attempted to remove the bangle, the video also showed another woman intervening and swatting his hand away. However, despite the resistance, the man allegedly tried again.
Annamalai's remark has triggered strong reactions from DMK supporters, who have dismissed the allegations as a misrepresentation of events.
