PAK vs BAN 2025 Series Schedule Altered: ODIs Scrapped, T20Is Increased

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has scrapped the ODI series, opting instead for an extended T20I series.

After a disappointing Champions Trophy 2025 campaign, Pakistan's struggles continued on their New Zealand tour, where they lost the five-match T20I series 1-4.

The poor form carried into the ODI series, with Pakistan suffering a 73-run defeat in the opening ODI match in Napier.

In a major development, Bangladesh has now removed the ODI series from their upcoming tour of Pakistan. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) stated that the decision was made to focus on preparations for the Asia Cup 2025 and the T20 World Cup 2026.

BCB scraps BAN vs PAK ODI series

As per a report from Cricbuzz, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has scrapped the ODI series against Pakistan, opting instead for an extended T20I series.

This adjustment aims to help both teams prepare for the T20-format Asia Cup 2025, set to take place in India in September, and the T20 World Cup 2026, which will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

Updated Schedule

Originally, Bangladesh was scheduled to play three ODIs and three T20Is in Pakistan in May 2025 as part of the Future Tour Program (FTP). However, both boards have now agreed to replace the ODIs with a five-match T20I series.

Also, Pakistan and Bangladesh will play another three-match T20I series in July 2025. This additional series was finalized during a meeting between the heads of both cricket boards at the Champions Trophy. Though not part of the FTP, both nations have mutually agreed to include it.

A BCB official confirmed that Bangladesh will now play only T20 matches on their Pakistan tour. The decision aligns with both teams' strategies to fine-tune their squads ahead of the two major T20 tournaments in 2025 and 2026.
