My chances in India T20I team are difficult: Umesh Yadav

After six years, when he found himself in the playing XI, Umesh made the most of the opportunity and took two wickets off 19 runs from two overs

Team India’s second T20I against Ireland on June 29 also marked the comeback match for speedster Umesh Yadav in the shortest format of the game after six years.

Umesh played the last T20I for India back in 2012 against Sri Lanka. The 30-year-old pacer though proved his skills in the red-ball cricket and ODIs but couldn’t make it to India’s Twenty20 International setup.

After six years, when he found himself in the playing XI, Umesh made the most of the opportunity and took two wickets off 19 runs from two overs.

Speaking about his successful comeback after such a long time, the paceman said he was happy with his performance and credited the Indian Premier League (IPL) stint for it.

“I enjoyed my game today. I just came and tried to do those same things, whatever I have done in the IPL, so I just keep following the same thing here. I am just trying, and let's see, for the future also, whatever I am just doing, I'll keep doing the same,” said Umesh Yadav.

Umesh also admitted that it has now turned difficult for him to get back in the T20I side as Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah have already provided the required balance. He said,

“The team is well balanced right now because of Bhuvi, Bumrah, and Shami. Sometimes it is very difficult to get the chance. But still, the management is trying to give the best, to give the proper opportunity to every fast bowler. So, I'm just waiting for my turn. Whenever it comes, I will just give my 100 per cent.”

Speaking about the forthcoming challenges in the England series, Umesh said,

“Nowadays the wickets are very flat. You've seen England playing on that kind of tracks and 480 [481] runs they made [against Australia]. So definitely it is very challenging for the fast bowlers.”

Umesh recently had a splendid experience in the recently concluded season of the IPL. Representing the Royal Challengers Bangalore, he played a crucial role with the ball and picked 20 wickets from 14 games.

He remained the 4^th highest wicket taker after Andrew Tye (24), Rashid Khan (21) and Siddharth Kaul (21).
