Last week, the Chennai Super Kings retained MS Dhoni ahead of the IPL 2024 auction, confirming his involvement in the upcoming season. The 42-year-old legendary played had a successful knee surgery after he helped Chennai Super Kings to a record-equalling fifth IPL title win last season as they defeated the Gujarat Titans.

Kasi Viswanathan who is CEO of Chennai Super Kings showed immense faith that Dhoni will follow his pledge and play in the IPL 2024. Though he is 42 years old, the CSK skipper told his fans that he will try to take part in at least one more season.
"If our leader has given a word, he has never gone back. He already told me what he was planning to do in that interview. I am sure that knowing MS, he will always do what he has committed to do. He is quite fit. Thalaivan is thalaivan (our leader is our leader)," Kasi said in a video posted by CSK.
CSK also released ace all-rounder Ben Stoked after he said he would not be available for the upcoming season. The Yellow Brigade now has 31.4 crore in its purse ahead of the much-awaited 2024 IPL auction. Both CSK and MI have won five IPL titles each with the Men in Yellow winning IPL in three of the last six seasons.
