Jofra Archer has officially been added to England's playing XI for the upcoming Lord’s Test.

The third Test of the five-match series between India and England is set to take place at the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground, starting July 10.

Cricket fans around the world are eagerly awaiting this clash. England have named their playing XI, and pacer Jofra Archer has been included, marking his much-anticipated return.

Jofra Archer to play at Lord's

Jofra Archer has officially been added to England's playing XI for the upcoming Lord’s Test.

After England's heavy defeat in the second Test at Edgbaston, head coach Brendon McCullum confirmed that Archer was available for selection. The right-arm pacer has been preparing for a long-awaited comeback and is now ready to make an impact in red-ball cricket again.

Jofra Archer’s Test record at Lord’s

Archer is regarded as one of England’s most fearsome pace bowlers, and his inclusion adds a serious edge to the attack. Despite his limited outings at Lord’s, he’s already shown promise.

So far, Archer has played just one Test match at this venue.

In that appearance, he bowled a total of 44 overs across both innings and picked up five wickets at an impressive average of 18.20. His ability to extract bounce and pace on the Lord's surface will be something Indian batsmen must prepare for.

Jofra Archer last featured in a Test match against India back in 2021 at Ahmedabad. Since then, he has remained out of action for a long period due to recurring injuries.

However, after nearly four years on the sidelines, Archer is finally set to make his comeback for England in the longest format of the game. His return is a major boost for the England team, especially in the fast bowling department.

England playing XI for IND vs ENG 3rd Test at Lord's: Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes (captain), Jamie Smith, Chris Woakes, Bryden Carse, Jofra Archer, Shoaib Bashir.
