Jasprit Bumrah and Nitish Kumar Reddy were the undisputed stars of the Indian team alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal in the recently-concluded Boxing Day Test 2024 between India and Australia, as the former two have managed to make their appearance on the esteemed MCG Honours Board for their respective set of achievements.

Jasprit Bumrah grabbed a five-wicket haul, while Nitish Kumar Reddy scored a memorable ton to secure his first three-digit figures in the red-ball cricket on the international stage.

However, inspite of their best efforts, rest of the team (excluding Yashasvi Jaiswal) performed extremely bad, as Australia managed to produce one of the iconic last-session victories in recent memory, with them scalping 7 wickets in the final sesison of Day 5 to hand India a 184-run hammering.

Rohit Sharma addressed the vital contributions from Jasprit Bumrah and Nitish Kumar Reddy in the Boxing Day Test, and applauded thw duo for their respective achievements and milestones during the post-match presentation ceremony.

On Nitish Kumar Reddy:

"Absolutely, look he has been tremendous for us so far in the series. He has got a bright future ahead of him. In terms of technique he was brilliant as well. I just hope he goes from strength to strength and obviously he has a lot of backing from the team."

On Jasprit Bumrah:

"No he is a champion cricketer for us. You don't need to tell him what to do but Bumrah the way he has managed himself is simply outstanding. He needs support from the other end which has been lacking."
