IPL 2020 Final, MI vs DC: Top Run Getters, Leading Wicket Takers For Both Finalists

The grand finale in the thirteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) will witness defending champions Mumbai Indians battling it out with Delhi Capitals for the coveted IPL title later in the evening. The Dubai International Stadium in Dubai (UAE) will be the venue for the IPL 2020 title clash between MI and DC which is scheduled for a 7:30 pm (IST) start. While defending champions Mumbai Indians look to add a 5th IPL trophy to their already glittery trophy cabinet, Delhi Capitals will look to topple the rank favourites Mumbai Indians and vie for their maiden IPL title. It is 3-0 in favour of Mumbai Indians going into the finals against Delhi Capitals as the 'Blue Brigade' beat Iyer-led DC in both the league encounters as well as the Play-off 'Qualifier 1' to secure a berth into their sixth IPL final. Mumbai Indians also hold the slight advantage over Delhi Capitals with a 15-12 win record in the 27 IPL encounters played between the two teams over the thirteen seasons in the marquee T20 league. While MI's into the finals has come on the back of an all-round team performance highlighted by consistent run scoring by their top order batsmen and game changing spells; Delhi Capitals made it to their first ever IPL final largely on the back of Shikhar Dhawan's run scoring exploits and the fiery seam bowling of Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult. Ahead of the grand finale between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals, let us look at who have been the star performers for the finalists with both the willow and white cherry Leading Run Scorers MI opener Quinton De Kock and Ishan Kishan have been the leading run scorers for Mumbai Indians in the build up to the finals with 483 runs each. Meanwhile, in-form middle order batsman Suryakumar Yadav is third on the run scoring charts for MI with 461. There have been handy contributions lower down the order from power hitters Hardik Pandya (278) Keiron Pollard (259) and Krunal Pandya (108). Delhi Capitals' batting efforts in Season 13 of the IPL have been spearheaded by their seasoned opener Shikhar Dhawan. The left handed opener has notched up a staggering 603 runs laced with two tons. DC skipper Shreyas Iyer is the second highest run geter with 454, followed by Australian hard hitting all-rounder Marcus Stoinis who has 353 runs. DC frontline batsmen Prithvi Shaw (228), Shimron Hetmyer (180) and Ajinkya Rahane (111) have struggled with the bat all through the season. Leading Wicket Takers The seam battery of both the IPL 2020 finalists have played an integral role in their respective sides to the finals. While the Proteas seam duo of Kagiso Rabada (29) and Anrich Norjte (20) have been in rich taking form all through the season, the MI pace battery if Jasprit Bumrah (27) and Trent Boult (22) have been equally menacing with some game changing spells all through the tournament. MI off spinner Rahul Chahar has chipped in with 15 wickets to compliment the efforts to his team's seam bowlers. Meanwhile, the Delhi spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin (13) and Axar Patel (9) have contributed to their team's stellar campaign in the lead up to the grand finale. Leading Six Hitters Mumbai Indians batsman Ishan Kishan has hit the most sixes in the thirteenth edition of the tournament. The attacking left hander has cleared the fence with 29 maximums. Meanwhile, hard hitting finishers Hardik Pandya and Keiron Pollard have tonked 25 and 22 sixes respectively for the defending champions. Marcus Stoinis leads the six hitting charts for Delhi Capitals with 16 sixes in the tournament. DC skipper Shreyas Iyer has tonked 14 sixes in the season so far.
