Four Held For Trespassing During Ind vs SL Bengaluru Test

The miscreants were eventually chased away by the security and were apprehended as well but the breach has raised some serious questions regarding players' security.

New Delhi: The second and final match of the two-match Test series between India and Sri Lanka is currently being played at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. On Day 2 of the Day-Night Test, during Sri Lanka's second innings, an unusual sight caught everyone's attention when some miscreants entered the field just moments before Stumps as the play was halted for some time.

The miscreants had entered the field during the short medical break taken for Sri Lankan player Praveen Jayawickrama's knee injury. It was during the break when two juveniles and two adults trespassed. The Bangalore police apprehended the four trespassers and removed them from the Chinnaswamy stadium, ANI reported.

Photos and videos went viral on social media which showed that one of the four miscreants had managed to take a selfie with Virat Kohli. The miscreants were eventually chased away by the security and were apprehended as well but the breach has raised some serious questions regarding players' security.

On Day 2 of the Day-Night Test, India declared their second inning after scoring 303/9, setting a 447-run target for Sri Lanka. In reply, the visitors had a poor start, going into the stumps at 28/1 at the end of the day's play.

Talking about Virat's performance in the match, he could not do anything special with the bat in the second Test. The star batter scored 23 runs in the first innings and 13 runs in the second innings. Due to Kohli's poor form, his average in Tests has dropped below 50. This is the first time since 2017 that Kohli's average has dropped below 50.
