West Indies leveled the 3-match T20I series against India after beating the hosts by eight wickets in the 2nd T20I played at Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday. Amid the intense battle between the 'Men in Blue' and the 'Maroon Brigade' on the green turf, there was another chapter of the growing duel between Indian skipper Virat Kohli and Windies seamer Kesrick Williams that unfolded in the match.
Round three of the already hyped Kohli-Williams rivalry which has very much caught the fans attention went to Windies seamer after he again dismissed the Indian skipper in the second T20I. The medium pacer had the better of the Indian skipper scalping him for only 19 runs.
However, after dismissing Kohli, Williams didn’t go for his signature 'notebook' send-off. Rather he had a very subdued mode of celebration as he put the finger on his lips that indicated to keep quiet which he asked his teammates at that time.
The incident could be seen as a sweet revenge by the Windies seamer over Kohli as Williams's notebook celebration was mimicked by Kohli in the 1st T20I in Hyderabad which led to several memes and trolls on the pacer. "Williams had given me the notebook when he dismissed me in Jamaica, so I remembered it from there. We gave each other a high-five later. Play hard but respect the opponent," Kohli had said after the 1st T20I.Don't WILD the Tiger🔥 Kesrick Williams silence, he knows many more ahead👏 Well learned lesson Don't mess with king👑 @imVkohli #KingKohli #williams#INDvsWI pic.twitter.com/uRurhuokC3

The rivarly unfolded for the first time around two years back when Kesrick Williams dismissed Kohli (39 runs) for the first time and made a “tick in the notebook” celebration as a send-off in the Kingston T20I. The Indian captain Virat Kohli didn’t forget that incident even after the more than two years. In the series opener of the ongoing three-match T20I series between the hosts India and Windies at Hyderabad on last Friday (6th December) night, the Indian skipper gave a real hammering to Williams on his way to registering a whirlwing 94-run off 50 balls to help.@imVkohli on being asked about the 'notebook celebration': "Play hard but respect the opponent" 🙌🙌#INDvWI #SpiritOfCricket pic.twitter.com/Yku21Gtht0
