With their century stand against West Indies, Kohli-Rahane pair also got their names onto the records books, registering the most number of century stands for the 4th wickets in Tests for India.

India ended Day 3 of the first Test against the West Indies at Sir Vivian Richards, Antigua in a commanding position after garnering 260-run lead over the hosts at stumps. India were in the driver's seat largely due to unbeaten century partnership stitched by captain Virat Kohli and his deputy Ajinkya Rahane. After India lost their openers and the ever dependable Pujara early, Kohli and Rahane put up an unbeaten 112-run stand for the fourth wicket to help India stretch their lead beyond the 200 mark and put them into a winning position and take a 1-0 lead in the series. With their century stand, Kohli-Rahane pair also got their names onto the records books, registering the most number of century stands for the 4th wickets in Tests for India. The pair notched up their 8th century stand and went past the record held by Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly, who had seven century stands to their name. After bundling out the West Indies for 222 in their first innings, the Indians were in a spot of bother when they lost their openers KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal. However, the Indians staged a brilliant comeback courtesy a century stand between Virat Kohli and Akinkya Rahane for the fourth wicket.
