Earlier, as per the BCCI release, “The All-India Senior Selection Committee has included pacer Jasprit Bumrah in India's ODI squad for the upcoming Mastercard 3-match ODI series against Sri Lanka.
Bumrah has not played international cricket since September 2022. "The pacer has undergone rehabilitation and has been declared fit by the National Cricket Academy (NCA). He will be joining the Team India ODI squad soon."
Due to a back injury, Bumrah missed major tournaments like Asia Cup and the T20 World Cup. One of the major reasons for India’s poor performance was Bumrah's absence.
Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket team will take on Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series, starting from January 10. The hosts have a strong record in the 50-overs format on home soil but they can't take Sri Lankan players lightly who have a solid group of match-winners in their team.
