IND Vs NZ: Jayant Yadav spun a web around the New Zealand tail-enders on Day 4 of the Wankhede Test match. Ashwin also picked 4. Mayank Agarwal starred with the bat scoring 212 runs in the match.

After a nail-biting first Test match that was played in Kanpur, India came back strongly in the Mumbai Test. India defeated New Zealand by a whopping margin of 370 runs. Jayant Yadav spun a web around the New Zealand tail-enders on Day 4 of the Wankhede Test match.

India needed 5 wickets to win the Test on Day 4. Jayant Yadav picked 4 of them, while Ashwin picked the last wicket of the match by stumping Nicholls. The Kiwis were all out within an hour of play on Day 4 of the Test match. Nine out of the 10 wickets were picked by Indian spinners in the 4th innings, the remaining wicket was a runout.

The NZ batsmen displayed an ordinary performance with the bat in both their innings. They were not able to handle the spinning deliveries at the Wankhede Stadium.

Story Of The Match

Ravichandran Ashwin & Jayant Yadav picked up four wickets in the innings while Axar Patel has one wicket against his name. Tom Blundell was run out. It has been a  dominant performance by India with both bat and ball, the first innings saw a magical 100 by Mayank Agarwal, followed by a fiery opening spell by Mohammed Siraj and 4 wickets from Ashwin to seal the NZ first innings for just 62 runs.

There are quite a few questions for the Kiwis to answer after their dreadful batting performance.

Mayank Agarwal was the star for India as he scored 212 runs in the two innings of the Mumbai Test where the other batsmen were finding it difficult to even cross the 150 mark. Axar Patel also provided the much-needed impetus for the Indian innings down the order. Overall, it was a good team effort by team India to win the Mumbai Test. Now, India would be eyeing at the upcoming South Africa series.

This Test match win would mean that India also wins the series against New Zealand and further improve their position in the World Test Championship (WTC) table.
