WATCH: Back-To-Back Blows! Jasprit Bumrah Dismisses Two In Two To Flip The Match

Putting England under pressure, Jasprit Bumrah picked two wickets in back-to-back balls during the 87th over.

The second day of the Lord's Test match being played against England began on a high note for India. Although Joe Root completed his century by hitting a four on the very first ball, Jasprit Bumrah turned the tide soon after by taking two wickets in just seven balls with his lethal bowling.

He picked up two wickets on consecutive deliveries, pushing England on the back foot.

The morning started with Root reaching his hundred by smashing a boundary off Bumrah. But India struck back quickly, thanks to Bumrah, who removed three English batters in quick succession. First, he got rid of the well-set Ben Stokes, who was dismissed for 44 runs off 110 balls.

Stokes Clean Bowled by a Peach

Bumrah bowled Stokes with a brilliant delivery, coming round the wicket and pitching the ball on a good length outside off. The ball sharply nipped in and breached Stokes’ defense, crashing into the upper part of the off stump. The stump was uprooted, and Stokes looked visibly disappointed as he walked back to the pavilion.

2 Wickets in 2 Balls: England Stunned

Putting England under pressure, Bumrah then picked two wickets in back-to-back balls during the 87th over.

First, he sent back Joe Root, who was batting on 104 from 199 deliveries. Then, on the very next ball, he dismissed Chris Woakes for a golden duck, making it two in two.

With that, Bumrah had taken three wickets in a span of just seven deliveries. It’s worth noting that he had already picked one wicket on Day 1, bringing his total to four wickets in the innings. Now, he is just one wicket away from completing a fifer at Lord’s, a feat that would cap off a truly dominant spell.
