Team India Sets New Benchmark In Sixes, Shatters 50-Year Record

Team India has created history by breaking the record for hitting the most sixes in a Test series on foreign soil.

The third Test match between India and England is currently being played at Lord's. This series is now at a very exciting stage.

Both India and England have won one match each, and now both teams will be aiming to take the lead by winning at Lord's.

So far, a lot of runs have been scored in this Test series, and during this, Team India has created history by breaking the record for hitting the most sixes in a Test series on foreign soil.

Team India Creates History

Back in the 1974-75 Test series, the West Indies had hit a total of 32 sixes in 5 matches against India. Since then, no team had managed to hit more sixes in a single overseas Test series.

However, India has now broken this 50-year-old record. So far, Team India has hit 36 sixes in the ongoing Test series against England. In the first match, India hit 12 sixes, followed by 19 sixes in the second Test.

India also struck 5 sixes in the first innings of the third Test match currently underway at Lord's.

The Indian team still has one more innings left in this Test, and with two more matches remaining in the series, the total number of sixes could very well cross 50. Team India’s batters may continue to showcase their dominance in the upcoming games as well.

India and England Post Identical First-Innings Scores

In the ongoing Lord's Test, both India and England finished their first innings with identical scores.

England batted first and posted 387 runs on the board. Joe Root led the charge with a century, while Jamie Smith and Brydon Carse contributed valuable half-centuries. In response, India also scored 387 runs. KL Rahul registered a brilliant century, while Rishabh Pant added 74 runs and Ravindra Jadeja scored a solid 72.

England’s second innings hasn't started well. At the time of writing this report, England has managed to score just 98 runs while losing 4 wickets. It will be interesting to see how the match unfolds from here and whether Team India can capitalize on this opportunity.
