India skipper Virat Kohli scored his 27th Test ton during the second day of the Day-Night Test against Bangladesh being played at the Eden Gardens. Kohli's ton was also his 20th century as Test skipper and moved him ahead of legendary Australia captain Ricky Ponting in an elite Test list of Test centuries scored by skippers.
With 20 tons as Test captain, Kohli is only second behind South African skipper Graeme Smith who leads the pack with 25 tons.
Kohli became the first Indian to score a century in Day-Night Test and his 27th Test century put the hosts into a commanding position in the match. Virat Kohli also went past Steve Smith on the list of batsmen with most hundreds in Test cricket.
Kohli is now tied at the 17 spot alongside South Africa's Graeme Smith and Australia's Allan Border who also have 27 Test hundreds. En-route to his Test ton, Kohli also became the fastest to score 5000 Test runs as captain.
