In Tests, Rahul so far has scored 3007 runs at an average of 33.78 and a strike rate of 52.83, with 15 half-centuries and 8 centuries to his name. After India's rocky start, he looked to anchor the innings but was controversially dismissed for 26 runs.

Australia ends day 1 at 67/7 in their first innings, trailing India by 83 runs
Day 1 of IND vs AUS 1st Test in Perth was a pacer's paradise, with 17 wickets tumbling as both India and Australia struggled with the bat. Opting to bat first, India were bowled out for a mere 150. In reply, Australia ended the day at 67/7 in their first innings, trailing India by 83 runs.
India's innings began disastrously, with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Devdutt Padikkal both dismissed for ducks, leaving the team reeling at 14/2. Virat Kohli tried to rebuild alongside KL Rahul but managed just 5 runs off 12 balls before being dismissed at 32/3. Rahul, who top-scored among the top-order batters with a patient 26 off 74 balls, fell to a controversial decision in the 23rd over.
The middle and lower order failed to capitalize, with Dhruv Jurel (11), Washington Sundar (4), and Harshit Rana (7) offering little resistance. Rishabh Pant fought hard for his 37 off 78 balls.
