IND vs AUS: Jasprit Bumrah Could Rewrite Record Books In Pink Ball Test

In the current IND vs AUS Border-Gavaskar Test series, Jasprit Bumrah has already surpassed R Ashwin's 39 Test wickets in Australia, bringing his tally to 40.

Indian cricket team's star pacer Jasprit Bumrah is in fiery form, proving to be a major force for the team. His performance in Perth Test, where he claimed 8 wickets and earned Player of the Match award, highlighted his ability to dominate Australians in Australia. As the focus now shifts to IND vs AUS 2nd Test in Adelaide, Bumrah has an opportunity to achieve a historic milestone.

Jasprit Bumrah is just one wicket away from reaching 50 Test wickets in a calendar year, a rare feat for any bowler. Additionally, with three wickets in Adelaide, he will surpass Zaheer Khan's 2002 record of 51 Test wickets in a single calendar year. Having already taken 49 wickets in 10 matches this year, Bumrah's consistency have been crucial to India's success.

In the ongoing IND vs AUS Border-Gavaskar Test series, Bumrah has already surpassed R Ashwin's 39 Test wickets in Australia, bringing his tally to 40. To surpass Kumble's total of 49 wickets on Australian soil, Bumrah needs 10 more scalps. Also, matching Kapil Dev's record of 51 Test wickets in Australia would require 11 wickets in the remaining matches.

With his unrelenting consistency, Bumrah is well-positioned to achieve these milestones during IND vs AUS Adelaide Test.

As Jasprit Bumrah gears up to lead India's bowling attack, fans will be hoping he can continue his red-hot form.

Kapil Dev remains unmatched when it comes to most Test wickets by an Indian bowler in a calendar year

Kapil Dev, the legendary all-rounder, took 75 wickets in 1983, a record yet to be surpassed. He also had an impressive 74-wicket haul in 1979, making him one of India's finest pacers. Among pacers, Zaheer Khan is the only other Indian seamer to cross 50-wicket mark in a calendar year, achieving the feat in 2002.

In the spin category, Anil Kumble equaled Kapil's 74-wicket tally, while Ravichandran Ashwin came close with 72 wickets in 2016. Other iconic spinners like Harbhajan Singh, Bhagwat Chandrasekhar, and Vinoo Mankad have also crossed 50-wicket milestone.
