The Pakistan Cricket Board let off Mohammad Hafeez without any penalties after receiving satisfactory explanation for his comments about the ICC’s procedure of dealing with suspect bowling actions.

The Pakistan Cricket Board let off Mohammad Hafeez without any penalties after receiving satisfactory explanation for his comments about the ICC’s procedure of dealing with suspect bowling actions.

Hafeez appeared before a three-member disciplinary committee comprising PCB Director Cricket Operations Haroon Rasheed, Media Director Amjad Hussain and General Manager Salman Naseer and conveyed that his views were ‘misinterpreted'.

The 37-year-old all-rounder was issued a show cause notice for coming out in open to criticize ICC after being pulled up for a suspected bowling action for the third time in his career. However, he explained it to the committee that he was merely trying to suggest corrective measures and he was quoted out of context, leading to all the misunderstanding.

The disciplinary committee is reported to be satisfied with Hafeez’s explanation and have decided to put the matter to rest. However, Hafeez has been directed him to make a clarification in the media.
