Just one ball before reaching this amazing milestone, Gayle had smacked McClenaghan for a 101m colossal six in the previous ball of the same over. As it appeared that Gayle might win this one for Punjab, thanks to excellent captaincy from Rohit Sharma, Pandya brothers worked together to get rid of the Universe Boss. In the eight over, Gayle, in an attempt to hit Krunal Pandya for a biggie down the ground, didn’t connected his bat well with the ball as it went a long way up in the air. Fielding at long-on, Hardik Pandya grabbed one of the easiest and most important catch of the match to end Gayle’s fiery knock.
