The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is set to begin on February 19, with 8 teams participating. While 7 teams have already been announced, the Indian squad is still pending, reportedly due to updates on injuries to Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav.

In the meantime, cricket experts have selected their ideal Team India for ICC Champions Trophy 2025 tournament. On Star Sports, former cricketers Sunil Gavaskar and Irfan Pathan picked a squad that includes Mohammad Shami, who last played for India during the 2023 ODI World Cup, and wicketkeeper Sanju Samson.

The experts' selected lineup features 2 spinners, 3 fast bowlers, and 1 all-rounder.

Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson were named as wicketkeepers, while KL Rahul is included as a batsman. Hardik Pandya has been chosen as a pace all-rounder, and Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja are the spin options. Yashasvi Jaiswal has been selected to open alongside Rohit Sharma, replacing Shubman Gill, though Gill still retains his place in the squad.

Team India's schedule in ICC Champions Trophy 2025:

India and Pakistan are the only two teams that have not yet announced their squads for upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Although the deadline for squad submissions has passed, reports suggest that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has requested an extension from the ICC and is likely to announce its squad on January 18 or 19.

India's Champions Trophy schedule starts on February 20 against Bangladesh, followed by a clash with Pakistan on February 23, and their final group stage match against New Zealand on March 2. The knockout stage will feature semi-final 1 on March 4, followed by semi-final 2 on March 5.
