'Gully Cricketer': Babar Azam Trolled After Replacement Kamran Ghulam Scores Century In PAK vs ENG 2nd Test

Babar Azam once again found himself in the crosshairs of social media trolls and memes after his replacement for PAK vs ENG 2nd Test, Kamran Ghulam, scored a test century on debut.

Social media has been flooding with trolls and memes for ace Pakistan batter Babar Azam after Kamran Ghulam, who replaced Babar for the ongoing 2nd Pakistan vs England Test in Multan, slammed a century on his Test debut. Babar Azam was dropped from Pakistan’s 11 after the team suffered a humiliating loss to England in the 1st Test at Multan. 

Kamran Ghulam, playing his first Test for Pakistan at the age of 29, scored 118 runs off 224 balls, slamming 11 boundaries and one six.

Pakistan dropped Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shan and Sarfaraz Ahmad after the team faced an innings and 47 runs defeat to England and became the first team to lose a Test by an innings after scoring over 500 runs in the first innings.

After Ghulam bagged the opportunity and scored a century, social media users trolled Babar Azam, had hadn’t scored a Test fifty since December 2022.

A user called Babar a ‘gully cricketer’ saying, “Imagine benching this BEAST Kamran Ghulam for a mediocre gully cricketer Babar Azam.”
